Our leaders have Black Belt Rank in Tae Kwon Do, so we call what we do and promote our students to rank in Tae Kwon Do. We use the original 20 Tae Kwon Do Hyungs (patterns or forms) that General Choi Hong Hi (founder of Tae Kwon Do) called the Chang Hon or Blue Cottage Forms.

We feel that a style that stands still is really moving backwards, and that the totality of what we teach is constantly evolving and changing. We have incorporated into our Tae Kwon Do many techniques, moves, etc. from many other styles of martial arts. We use Judo throws, trips and sweeps, a different punching chamber, Aikido moves, techniques from Okinawan Karate, Tai Chi, Japanese Goju, Okinawan Goju, Philippine Kali (or Escrima) sticks, and anything else we see that we like or think we can use to become better martial artists. We spar like open Karate tournaments spar, not like traditional Tae Kwon Do.

Most traditional Tae Kwon Do schools would probably not have much to do with us, as we do so many other things not in the “Tae Kwon Do Book”.
